Born and raised in New Rochelle, New York, Rich previously made his home and raised his family in Brewster, New York.  As a part-time Cape Cod resident for many years, a permanent relocation to the Cape was always in his future.

Following a successful technical and managerial career with Verizon, Rich became a consultant to the telecommunications industry and traveled extensively throughout the US and Europe before pursuing a real estate career on Cape Cod.  Married to Patricia Montague (also a Realtor with ERA Martin Surette) for over 30 years, they are the parents of two daughters: Jennifer, a graduate of Boston College who recently received her MA at the University of Lancaster in the United Kingdom where she now resides; and Courtney, who has a BS in DNA Biology Research from Northeastern University and is presently a pastry chef in an upscale restaurant in Boston.

Always involved in community, Rich is an active member of his local Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) under the auspices of the Yarmouth Fire Department and is a graduate of the Yarmouth Civilian Police Academy.

Rich loves boating, gardening, and working to deplete the Striped Bass population in local waters while spending time with his family and Border Collie, Coda.  He also was awarded the 2006 Governor’s Cup Trophy in the category for Yellow Fin Tuna (105 lbs).
